Lazy
and proud of it.
My
name is Jez Walters and I make my living online by being lazy.
I
work at being lazy, and make a lot of money doing so.
If
you Google me you won't find much. Maybe a mention of my company,
Westcliff Ebooks and of a few reports I've written, but on the whole
I'm pretty much a non-entity.
I
like it that way, because it means I don't have to live up to
anything.
I'm
what people call an Internet Marketer, but all I really do is build
websites that make money. Then I build more. It's simple and I love
it.
I've
worked like this for a number of years and it's easy. If you're trying
to do the same but you're not making any money then you won't agree
that it's easy, you'll think it's hard.
It's
not though. What's really happened is that you've been sucked
into believing all the bull that is flying round the Internet on
various forums, groups and emails.
Try
stopping listening to people for a while and see what happens. You
might actually get on with something instead of spending time working
out which piece of advice to take.
I
stopped listening to advice quite a while ago. Now I just DO.
I
make money with websites, short reports and ebooks, although I don't
write many ebooks, I just publish them. A 15 page report can earn
thousands of dollars in a few short hours. A website can be built up
over a few months costing virtually nothing then sold for thousands.
But
Ebooks, in my opinion are still the best way of becoming rich online.
It's quite a simple process too.
I
just build a website selling an ebook on whatever subject then I
forget it and move onto another one. Of course I make sure that the
the right people know the site is there, but that's all there is to
it.
People
will tell you it's hard to do this, but the truth is it's phenomenally
easy. I'll show you anyway, so don't just take my word for it.
I've
got over 100 sites that generate income for me, and I don't have to do
much more than a bit of editing and banking the money. I really don't.
That's all there is to making money as an Internet Marketer. Build a
site, get it earning, build another one.
It's
no secret.
Just
for a month, put aside your mental baggage and don't worry about
search engine optimization or adwords (what a brilliant earner for
Google that is!), and forget that 'the gold is in the list' for a
little while.
Instead
concentrate on just one thing. Build a website. Make it look pretty.
Offer an ebook from it. Write some nice things about the ebook so
people will want to read it.
Then
get in touch with other people who have websites that compliment yours.
Send
them an email and mention some ways in which you could mutually
profit.
This
bit is important - let them have all the glory, the kudos and
get their name all over the forums as a guru or expert.
Just
take your percentage and go sit in the sun. Why the hell would you
want to be well-known on the Internet? A worse place for freaks,
dangerous people and assholes with nothing better to do than hassle
you about how you made a spelling mistake on your site I can't
imagine.
The
Lazy Way to do most things.
A
quick test.
If
you woke up tomorrow and found you were the only person left on the
planet what aftershave would you wear?
The
answer of course is none, because your aftershave, the car you drive,
the house you live in and the clothes you wear are all for the benefit
of other people. Think about what you would drive, eat, where you
would live if there was nobody else about. I think you'd agree there
would be some differences.
It's
the same when it comes to making money. Most people make a few
thousand for the first time then rush around telling others about it,
and trying to sell the method of how they did it.
The
smart ones keep quiet about it and gently bank the proceeds. Why sell
your methods to other people? Keep a low profile.
Of
course I wanted to show people all the big numbers on my bank
statement and for a while I did. As soon as I realised the grief it
brought I stopped playing the big man.
Not
soon enough because my name is already Google-able, even though apart
from once or twice, I've never written a single thing or built a
single website using my own name. I've used pseudonyms from the very
outset of my online career and it's the best thing I ever did.
Since
then I've made more money than I ever thought possible. Without any of
the jealousy, backstabbing or downright stupid emails that I used to
receive.
Many
people who try to make money online are incapable of tying their own
shoelaces securely, let alone earning $1000 a day. So what do they do?
They email people like me and ask me how to do it.
The
funny thing is, they're actually nearer the truth about earning money
online that you are!
The
way to earn money on the Internet is to get others to do it for you.
There's nothing wrong with this.
I'm
not talking about coercion, threats or blackmail. I'm just talking
about letting other people take the fame and glory while you take 50%
of the profit. You can usually agree on a bigger percentage because
unbelievably, most Internet Marketers would rather take 35% and be
able to say that the product is all theirs than take 50% and share the
authors credit.
Of
course I still retain my share of the rights to the book, even though
my name isn't on the website, I'm legally a part-owner of the work.
People
will do almost anything for their 15 minutes of fame. If you're
willing to give that up to those who want it, and just take just MONEY
as your reward then you'll get rich pretty quickly.
You've
never heard of me but I've earned a lot of money as an Internet
Marketer by letting the egos in this game have their moment in the
spotlight.
It's
just one example of the how it's easy to make money by being lazy.
Easy.
In
April 2007 I started a free newsletter about how to do this. I'm not
publicizing it too much and it'll have a limited readership.
What
have you got to lose? You might even be in for a few shocks.
If
you want to get on the mailing list you'll need to enter your name and
email address below. Your email address won't be given to anyone else.
You'll
get instant access to all my back issues and will be notified when new
ones are available. Remember it's free.
